With its association to the Lake Poets and being the location of the ever popular Cat Bells hills, Derwentwater has long attracted visitors trying to find a classic lakeland setting. Keswick is a pretty market town boasting independent shops, charming restaurants and interesting museums. It has a long literary history and was the inspiration for Beatrix Potter.
Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then on to the Derwentwater Hotel near Keswick for three nights.
Included excursion visiting the market town of Ambleside at the head of Lake Windermere. With a range of shops, restaurants and cafés and photo opportunities such as the iconic Bridge House. We then continue onto Bowness, a popular lakeside town that is bursting with attractions and stunning views of the lake.
Relax on the shores of Derwentwater or stroll to nearby Keswick, or join our optional excursion to Ullswater and the stunning Kirkstone Pass. Ullswater is the second largest lake in the Lake District and is the setting for William Wordsworth poem "Daffodills". The Kirkstone Pass with an altitude of 1,489 feet is the Lake District’s highest pass with stunning views of the area.
