Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then on to the Derwentwater Hotel near Keswick for three nights. We enjoy a tea, coffee or mulled wine with a festive treat on arrival to get us into the spirit of the season.
Set in the beautiful market town of Ulverston, this festival recreates bygone times with its period costumes, street entertainers and horse-drawn carriages – it’s no surprise this is one of the most popular Dickensian festivals in the country. There is also a magical Christmas market, perfect for finding thoughtful gifts or enjoying tasty treats.
We return back to the hotel in time for our Christmas dinner, complete with a complimentary glass of wine.
Relax on the shores of Derwentwater, or why not join our optional excursion to the popular town of Bowness-on-Windermere? There are plenty of quaint shops to explore, and the cosy cafés are the perfect place to watch the world go by. Continuing to pretty Ambleside, enjoy time at leisure to soak up the stunning lakeside scenery and stroll around the cobbled streets.
We return to the hotel for a festive cream tea.
