Jersey Treasures and Bournemouth Shores

Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then continue to Bournemouth. Enjoy dinner tonight in the hotel.

This morning, we are transferred to the port where we board the ferry as foot passengers and cross to Jersey. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for the next four nights by our local representative. Dinner in the hotel is included this evening.

After breakfast today, we include a tour of the island. Let our experienced local driver guide you around the stunning coastline whilst you enjoy an entertaining informative live commentary on Jersey’s unique atmosphere and rich history.

See Jersey’s incredible landscape, ranging from vast expanses of golden sand to breathtaking cliffs, all in one day. Stops include Noirmont Point, St. Brelade’s Bay, Gorey Harbour, Corbière Lighthouse and St. Ouen’s Bay.

The rest of your time here is free to enjoy and explore the island. Why not stroll through the pedestrianised shopping area of St. Helier, which is a short walk from the hotel, or relax on the beach? Our local representative will offer various excursions if you wish to explore the island further (at extra cost).

Why not visit La Hougue Bie, the most spectacular prehistoric monument in the Channel Islands? The 40-foot mound, which is topped by a medieval chapel, houses a Neolithic passage grave built around 3,000 BC. There is an introductory film showing the building of the reproduction Longhouse, an archaeology museum, and a display of artefacts from the world's largest Celtic coin discovery made in 2012. There is also a German Command Centre, now a memorial to the Island's forced workers during World War II.

If you'd prefer, you can stunning Gorey and Mont Orgueil Castle and explore the pretty village and harbour! There is also the chance to visit the Jersey War Tunnels, offering a fascinating insight into the occupation of the island in WWII.

We wave Jersey farewell and take the ferry back to Poole this afternoon. Food and drinks are available to purchase on the ferry throughout the journey. We arrive late evening into Bournemouth and our hotel.

After breakfast today, we experience Dorset by rail and sail! Enjoy a relaxing cruise around the eastern tip of the Jurassic Coast with guided commentary as we sail into the pretty town of Swanage.

From here, we will board the Swanage Steam Railway and soak up the scenery in this unique form of transport. You will have some free time to explore Poole and its harbour before we return to the hotel.
