Today we visit the charming university city of Maastricht, on the southern tip of the Netherlands. Take in the beautiful medieval architecture and enjoy as stroll through the charming streets of the cobbled old town, with its historic basilica and the Gothic-style church Sint Janskerk.
Spend time here before we continue to Aachen, where we stay for four nights.
Today is at your leisure, or you may join our optional visit to charming Monschau in the scenic Eiffel region. Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the winding alleys and take in the beautiful half-timbered houses that are traditional in Germany.
Later this afternoon our hotel will host tea/coffee with traditional 'Aachen Gingerbread'. This evening we enjoy a four-course Christmas Eve dinner.

Day 3: Monschau
This optional excursion is available to pre-book or you can book during your tour.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before we depart late morning to visit Liege. Stroll around the city and visit the renowned Christmas Market before returning to our hotel. This evening we sit down to a traditional turkey Christmas dinner and celebrate with a Christmas party.
After breakfast, we visit the Dutch town of Valkenburg, known for its charming town centre and historical chalk houses (known locally as mergel). Enjoy time at leisure to admire the town's many sights, such as the ruins of Valkenburg Castle, a number of beautiful churches and its many historical buildings. We later return to Aachen for dinner and bowling this evening.
