Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then to the Lake District for four nights.

Today we enjoy an included excursion to visit the market town of Keswick on the shores of beautiful Derwentwater. On the way, we call at Grasmere, which lies at the very heart of the beautiful Lake District. Here, you'll find the tiny Sarah Nelson Gingerbread Shop, located in the grounds of the pretty parish church. Made with a top-secret recipe, this sweet treat is popular with visitors – don't be put off by the queue, as it's well worth the wait!

Today we enjoy one of the highlights of our tour: a visit to Lake Windermere! First we will stop at Bowness-on-Windermere, one of the most popular spots on the lake. There will be time to explore the lakefront and boutique shops and cafés before it's time to board our cruise.

Watch the stunning scenery go by as you sail on Lake Windermere towards the top of the lake at Ambleside. Once we disembark, you will have some free time to explore the high street in Ambleside before we return to the hotel.

Please note: the day may operate in reverse, with the cruise from Ambleside to Bowness-on-Windermere instead.

Lovely holiday but the boat trip was only 30 minutes which was meant to be the highlight. It would have been nice to see a waterfall. But a lovely time.

Good value. Robbin did a good job. A wider coach would have had problems on the narrow roads .but wider seats and a more accessible toilet would have bean preferable. Also a second exit/entrance,

The hotel itself was in desperate need of a lot of TLC however the rest of the holiday was excellent and our driver Robbin was brilliant
