From quaint Chianciano, we’ll discover the many highlights of the ‘Heart of Italy’, from the Eternal City of Rome to Renaissance Florence with the impressive ‘Duomo’ and the beautiful city of Siena, enjoying the wonderful Tuscan towns and scenery along the way.

We’ll travel to the charming Tuscan city of Siena to see the many sights here. From its beautiful scenery to its superb cultural attractions, there will be plenty to see and do here.

We will also visit the magnificent city of Rome, famous for its incredible attractions. See the ancient monuments and splendid architecture, and be sure to take lots of pictures!

Enjoy our excursion to see Tuscany’s capital - Florence. This wonderful city is well-known for its medieval architecture and attractions, such as the Fountain of Neptune, the gothic Florence Cathedral, and the UNESCO historic centre of Florence.

Day One - Depart UK
In the morning of day one, we’ll make the journey from the UK to Chianciano, which will see us travelling via Calais. From there, we’ll travel through the night on our overnight express coach.

Day Two - Arrive in Chianciano
We arrive in Chianciano late morning and have time to settle into our hotel, the Hotel Mizar, for our first night in this picturesque town. (D)

Days Three to Seven - Chianciano
We'll spend another five days in wonderful Chianciano, enjoying three included excursions during our time there. We’ll travel to Cortona to discover hidden Tuscany, as well as exploring the incredible city of Rome and fantastic Florence. (B,D)

Day Eight - Depart Chianciano
As our holiday draws to a close, we’ll say goodbye to Chianciano and will travel to Calais. (B)

Day Nine - Arrive in UK
We’ll then return to the UK via Calais, and will take the coach back to our local joining points.

Full Day: Florence by Train

We’ll make the journey to Florence by train, which will provide us with an opportunity to admire the beautiful Italian scenery as we travel. We’ll then arrive in Florence and will have time to explore the area at leisure, with many different sights awaiting us.

For example, we’ll be able to look forward to seeing such landmarks as Florence Cathedral, the Piazza della Repubblica, the Loggia dei Lanzi, and the Palazzo della Signoria. This city is known for be the home of the renaissance movement, and so we can expect much in the way of beautiful architecture and amazing artwork, as well as lots of history to be found in its many museums.


Full Day: Rome

We’ll enjoy a full day to explore the endless sights of this romantic city. Known as the 'Eternal City' of the Roman Empire, Rome is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its historical centre. Rome has an immensely rich heritage and cosmopolitan atmosphere, making it one of the world’s most-visited capitals.

Packed with historical attractions and with something for absolutely everyone, we’re guaranteed to enjoy our time in this famous city. We’ll be able to enjoy free time to explore to our heart’s content, so we can see some of the city’s best-known attractions.

Take the time to discover St Peter’s Square, the Colosseum, the Sistine Chapel or Trevi Fountain, the choice is yours.



Half Day: Siena

With the city’s historical centre a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Siena is one of Italy’s most-visited tourist attractions and is famous for its beautiful attractions. We’ll explore its wonderful heritage and culture, and will get the chance to visit a number of its most popular sights at leisure.


Optional Excursions

Full Day: Assisi and Lake Trasimeno

Today will see us exploring the exquisite town of Assisi, famous for being the birthplace of St Francis. This town boasts many fascinating sights, and we’ll get to explore many of them during our time here. Spend time discovering the Franciscan structures of Assisi, which have been designated as a UNESCO site since 2000. These include the stunning Basilica of San Francesco d'Assisi, as well as the Church of San Pietro, the Santa Maria Maggiore, and Assisi Cathedral. 

Assisi also has two medieval castles to admire, and a Roman amphitheatre. The Temple of Minerva is another must-see - this ancient Roman building has been beautifully preserved. 

After our time in Assisi, we’ll enjoy a leisurely drive to the magnificent Lake Trasimeno, allowing us to take in the astounding scenery of this part of Italy.

Rome has an immensely rich heritage and cosmopolitan atmosphere, making it one of Europe's - and the world's - most-visited capitals. Join our guided tour of Rome by coach and on foot to learn about its fascinating history.



Half Day: Hidden Tuscany

Tuscany is filled with incredible sights, and we’ll delve into the region’s hidden delights today with an excursion to the town of Cortona. This beautiful Tuscan town has something for everyone, with its wonderful heritage, stunning medieval architecture and amazing atmosphere. Wander along the narrow streets, admire the pretty plazas and town squares, and why not visit some of the town’s many attractions? 

The Museo dell'Accademia Etrusca has a fine collection of medieval and renaissance art, while the Diocesan Museum is famous for its artistic panels by the Italian renaissance painter Fra Angelico.
