Today, after a hearty Scottish breakfast, we travel southwards alongside the shores of Loch Linnhe, a beautiful sea loch stretching for over 30 miles. Watch for the ever-changing views across the water, where forest-clad hills rise steeply from the shoreline. Enjoy a day at leisure today in Fort William, or join our optional excursion to journey along one of Scotland's most celebrated routes, the Road to the Isles. Leaving Fort William, we head west beneath the shadow of Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the British Isles. We follow the road that runs parallel to the route the famous Jacobite steam train, often known as the "Harry Potter train", takes through some of the Highlands' most dramatic landscapes. We will make a stop at the Glenfinnan visitor centre, where you can explore the Glenfinnan Monument. Overlooking Loch Shiel, it marks the spot where Bonnie Prince Charlie raised his standard in 1745. You can also climb to the viewing point to take photos of the Glenfinnan Viaduct.

We then continue west to Lochailort, where stunning views open across sea lochs and distant mountains, and go on to view the stunning beaches of Arisaig and Morar. Our destination is Mallaig, a bustling fishing port and ferry harbour on Scotland's west coast, where you'll have time to relax and enjoy lunch at your leisure. The waterfront provides a perfect setting to sit and enjoy the views while watching ferries depart for Skye and the Small Isles.

Today we enjoy one of Scotland's most spectacular road journeys as we travel from Fort William to Eilean Donan Castle. The route winds through the dramatic landscapes of the West Highlands, passing towering mountains, deep glens and shimmering lochs. We make a stop at the castle viewpoint to take photos before we head to the famous Skye Bridge, linking the mainland to Scotland's largest Inner Hebridean island. This is the second largest of Scotland's islands and undoubtedly the most beautiful, where the jagged mountain peaks, deep lochs and stunning coastline have been attracting visitors for centuries.
