Taking in the best of this elegant river, including the legendary Lorelei and beautiful scenery of the Rhine Gorge, our first stop is beautiful Koblenz. Immerse yourself in the wonderful atmosphere as you browse cosy stalls brimming with unique gifts, before discovering the impressive city of Cologne and its array of Christmas markets. With fantastic accommodation onboard the MS Johann Strauss, this will be a river cruise to remember.

Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then to Cologne where we join our ship and enjoy a relaxing evening sailing towards Koblenz.
Enjoy a leisurely morning as we cruise along the mighty Rhine, passing the legendary Lorelei and continuing through the spectacular Rhine Gorge. In the early afternoon, we arrive at Koblenz, the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle rivers. Here we have free time to visit the Koblenz Christmas Market. With over 130 festively decorated wooden stalls offering a range of handmade gifts and Christmas decorations, look around, enjoy a glass of glühwein and listen to the festive music. Alternatively, you can explore the city’s quaint lanes and atmospheric squares filled with beautiful old buildings.
After breakfast, we cruise up the Rhine and discover the beautiful city of Cologne. The hive of festive activity takes place around the cathedral and the old town, where you will find a maze of pretty stalls offering outstanding arts and crafts. There are also several smaller markets to enjoy, including the Harbour Christmas Markets held on the Rhine, with snowy white pagoda tents reminiscent of a ship’s sails.
This morning we bid farewell to our captain and crew, and disembark for the return journey to the UK.
