This romantic 13th- century castle was the childhood home of Anne Boleyn and is fascinating to explore. This 13th-century romantic castle, set in magnificent gardens and parkland, formed the unlikely backdrop to a sequence of tumultuous events that changed the course of British history forever. Its panelled rooms are filled with fine furniture, tapestries and antiquities - including two prayer books which belonged to Anne Boleyn herself, and bear her inscriptions and signature.
Relax in Eastbourne and explore with a day at leisure to enjoy this seaside town at your own pace.

Visit the gardens and grounds of Herstmonceux. Stroll the themed gardens and woodland trails, as well as the beautiful lake and moat walks, which circle the stunning castle. The sympathetic management of the gardens and grounds has led to a rich abundance of flora and fauna throughout the estate.
