Today we visit Cornwall and experience one of the region's top attractions, the Eden Project. Take in the sights, smells and scale of the rainforests in Rainforest Biome, amble amongst orange and lemon trees in the Mediterranean Biome, and in the 30-acre outdoor garden, discover a wide variety of plants that flourish in the Cornish sunshine.
Today is free for you to enjoy at leisure. You can choose to relax in the hotel, or explore historic Plymouth. Located where the rivers Tamar and Plym meet the sea, Plymouth has long been one of Britain’s most important maritime cities, known for its naval heritage, stunning coastal scenery, and role in key moments of English history. Visit the Barbican and historic harbour with its narrow cobbled streets and old buildings, and maybe stop for a bite to eat at one of the waterfront restaurants. You could even explore the harbour from the water with a harbour cruise.
Today we travel to the Lost Garden of Heligan. Once a thriving Victorian garden, Heligan fell into neglect after World War I when its gardeners left to serve in the war. For decades, nature reclaimed the grounds until a chance discovery in 1990 sparked one of the most remarkable garden restorations in Europe.
This afternoon, we stop at the charming Cornish fishing village of Mevagissey. Known for its twin harbour, narrow winding streets, and rich maritime history, it offers a quintessential Cornish experience.
After breakfast, we journey home.
Our team (based right here in the UK) will be more than happy to talk you through things - just give us a buzz!
You will stay for four nights at the 3-star Duke of Cornwall Hotel in Plymouth.
Location: Millbay Road, , Plymouth, PL1 3LG
The 3-star Duke of Cornwall Hotel is a grand 19th-century building in the heart of Plymouth, close to the historic waterfront. The hotel is traditional in style and its decor is elegant. Bedrooms are reached either by a sweeping staircase or vintage elevator (please note due to listed nature of building, there is no modern lift). Rooms feature a TV, tea and coffee-making facilities and many retain traditional features. The hotel offers a restaurant and two stylish bars, plus cosy lounge areas with chesterfield sofas and a fireplace. Dating back to 1863, the hotel stands as an iconic piece of Plymouth’s history and has some fascinating stories to tell. Created as the city’s first luxury hotel, the building was designed to project Victorian grandeur and splendour. With so much of what surrounded it destroyed in the war, the hotel's survival leaves its architectural merit even more apparent. Stepping into the grand entrance, you also step back in time. Considerate restorations mean the hotel's original grace and character can continue to be enjoyed today.Need further information? Fill in our enquiry form and we'll get back to you as soon as we can
