Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then on to the Derwentwater Hotel near Keswick for four nights.
A day of scenic splendour lies ahead as we firstly visit pretty Grasmere. Taking its name from the nearby stretch of water, Grasmere is also famous for its gingerbread which is still sold from the tiny Sarah Nelson’s Grasmere Gingerbread Shop near the pretty church. We continue and travel over the Kirkstone Pass, the regions highest pass open to motor traffic to reach Ullswater, regarded by many as the most beautiful lake in England. Magnificently set amid the Lakeland Fells, our relaxing cruise affords us fine views of the Lake District’s highest mountain, Helvellyn.
Today we venture out for more included fun on the waters of the Lake District. We travel to nearby Keswick and enjoy a cruise on the shimmering waters of Derwentwater, in the shadow of mighty Cat Bells. We continue to bustling Ambleside where we enjoy a little free time before taking to the waters again with Windermere Lake Cruises as we sail to pretty Bowness-on-Windermere.
Return home.
