Today we visit the historic city of Truro, dominated by the stunning three-spired cathedral. Start your Christmas shopping in one of the many shops and view the elegant Georgian architecture.
We then call at Heartlands, a place where Cornish heritage and culture are celebrated and enjoy one of the delights – a traditional cream tea!
We visit the magnificent Eden Project today. This all-weather attraction allows you to experience the sights, smells and scale of rainforests in the Rainforest Biome, amble amongst the orange and lemon trees in the Mediterranean Biome. The vast exhibits and fantastic displays attract visitors from all over the world.
We also call at Par Market, one of the largest indoor markets in the UK.
After breakfast, we depart the hotel to enjoy a fun day exploring the legends of Cornwall’s pirates, smugglers, and murky past. Our first stop will be the imposing Bodmin Jail, which now showcases the rich and dark history of Cornwall, especially the legacy of Georgian and Victorian crime and punishment. Learn about the local legends of smugglers and pirates and the 'Beast of Bodmin' at this fully accessible all-weather attraction. A fully guided tour is included.
Our next stop after a drive over Bodmin moor will be at the famous Jamaica Inn. Welcoming visitors since 1750, it is famous for the novel by Daphne du Maurier. A visit to the smugglers museum is included, where you can view artefacts of smuggling and shipwrecks. There is also a gift shop and farm shop with local Cornish produce.
Return home.
