Today we visit historic Edinburgh and its famous Christmas market. Scotland’s capital transforms into a sparkling festive wonderland, with the market set around Princes Street Gardens and George Street. Discover the fairground, ice rink, and an array of traditional stalls offering handmade gifts, ornaments, jewellery, clothing, and Scottish produce, from haggis and shortbread to whisky and fudge – or pick up some classic tartan, tweed, or woollen items.
We return to the hotel for dinner and enjoy live music from the pianist in the hotel lounge.
Merry Christmas! We start today with a Buck's Fizz and breakfast, enjoying a relaxing morning at the hotel.
A traditional Christmas lunch will be served in the restaurant, followed in the afternoon by tea, coffee, and mince pies. Later, a light finger buffet rounds off a wonderfully festive day.
After breakfast, there is free time to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of New Lanark Mill. Take a stroll along the river, wander around the historic site, or simply relax and enjoy the hotel’s leisure facilities.
In the afternoon, a Boxing Day treat awaits with a visit to a local theatre for a traditional pantomime! The day concludes back at the hotel with dinner and a festive quiz to round off the evening.
We depart the hotel this morning filled with magical Christmas memories and return home.
