Christmas on the Spanish Coast

Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then travel to Paris area for an overnight stay.

Continue our journey through France and into Spain to Roses/the Costa Maresme, where we’ll stay for the next five nights to enjoy a wonderful Christmas away.

Our full day excursion takes you on an interesting tour into another part of Catalonia. Our first stop is the charming town of Girona. Behind the colourful houses lining the River Onyar is the Old Town, with its imposing Gothic cathedral and maze of narrow streets. Have a stroll along the pedestrian Rambla de la Libertat lined with arcades, shops and pavement cafés.

We then make our way to the medieval town of Besalú. Step back in time as you explore this fascinating old centre, with its historic churches and buildings and interesting little shops.

Truly one of the great tourist cities in the world, Barcelona has a huge number of attractions and could keep anyone entertained for a week let alone a day.

You will have free time to enjoy this magnificent city and try and take in as many highlights as possible. Walk the streets of the Barri Gotic and the old town, shop on Las Ramblas, enjoy Antoni Gaudi's fantastic modernist artwork at the Parc Guell, and visit the as yet unfinished, but already iconic, Sagrada Familia.

Why not discover Barcelona’s very best attractions and landmarks during our optional sightseeing tour? Drive through the city and learn more about the Catalonian capital’s interesting history while admiring its beautiful sights. From Gaudi’s famous architecture to the city’s bustling shopping districts and historical attractions, we’ll get to explore further with our sightseeing tour.

Alternatively, take a more leisurely approach and ride the harbour cable car for fantastic views across the city and the Mediterranean Sea.

We celebrate this special day at our hotel with our fellow guests, enjoying a Christmas lunch.

Join us as we make our way to Figueres. This historical town is famous for being artist Salvador Dali's birthplace, and we can find the fascinating Dali museum in the town centre.

Explore Figueres at leisure, admiring Sant Ferran Castle, the charming narrow streets, and the bustling central boulevard.

We leave Roses/the Costa Maresme and retrace our steps into France and our overnight stay near Paris.
