Local departure by coach, then on to our hotel in Kendal for four festive nights.
Mince pies, tea and coffee on arrival, then a chance to settle into your room, get to know the hotel and staff, or relax in the lounge. This evening, enjoy a pre-dinner Buck's Fizz reception followed by dinner and entertainment.
Today we visit the picturesque market town of Keswick. Overlooked by the dramatic Skiddaw range in the north and the expansive Derwentwater in the south the town enjoys an idyllic location in the north of the Lake District.
From there we also visit the pretty town of Grasmere.
If you choose to spend the day in the hotel instead, why not enjoy afternoon tea around 3pm with a game of Bingo to while away the afternoon. Later this evening enjoy dinner and fabulous live entertainment.
Merry Christmas! Enjoy breakfast and then perhaps open some presents or take a stroll in the hotel surroundings before enjoying a traditional Christmas Day Lunch with all the trimmings. This afternoon why not watch the King's speech, enjoy an afternoon tea and play prize bingo. Tonight there will be a Gala buffet with more entertainment.
After breakfast this morning we will visit pretty Bowness-on-Windermere on the shores of Lake Windermere and also call at bustling Ambleside at the head of the lake so you can admire the spectacular views.
There will be another afternoon tea this afternoon in the hotel, followed by a final dinner and evening of entertainment.
We depart the hotel this morning, filled with magical Christmas memories, and return home.

Very enjoyable Christmas break

Hotel was good but Coach trips were disappointing. We only stayed in each location for approximately one hour which was near enough time. We were then transported back to the hotel for lunch, which wasn't on the itinerary, and then left to fend for ourselves in the afternoon. Although the lunches were lovely, we would have preferred to tour the lakes more and spend longer in each location. On the last day we were dropped off at an expensive garden centre for 2.5 hours and then services for 2 hours, we could have visited more of the lakes in this time. Apart from that we had a good trip.

One of the best coaching holidays we have had. Can recommend the hotel excellent in every way. Coach was from Ross company not a Shearings coach so not as comfy as seats very upright. Driver Paul however was very good and would be happy to have him as our driver again sometime.
