Royal Weymouth Hotel
The Royal Hotel commands an unrivaled position right on Weymouth’s seafront with the town’s beach just across the promenade and a wealth of shops, boutique cafes and bars and quality restaurants just a short walk away.
Weymouth has a number of great attractions with Nothe Fort an easy walk from the hotel which has various exhibitions on a variety of subjects throughout the year. Or take the bus to the Isle of Portland which has a historic castle and lighthouse and is generally a lovely place to spend a day on its trails which offer great views.
Weymouth’s main train station is just a couple of minutes’ walk from the hotel and by car and train the surrounding landscape is fantastic to explore. The Jurassic Coast is a short journey away as is the New Forest, both of which offer fantastic wildlife and landscapes with stunning golden beaches and fantastic moorland respectively.
The hotel’s restaurant and bar offer great views of the promenade and are a great place for people watching while enjoying our chef’s wide and varied menus at breakfast and for an evening meal. Choose to enjoy an upgrade to superior and premier rooms for even greater comfort and space as well as fantastic sea views during your stay.
Jaunt to Portland
Today we take a jaunt travelling along the coast to visit the Isle of Portland, joined to the mainland by the tip of Chesil Beach, rising to a height of five-hundred feet and quarried for centuries for its rich limestone.
Trip to Dorchester
Enjoy our excursion to charming Dorchester, the county town of Dorset, with its elegant 18th-century houses and vibrant history. It is still very much the famous ‘Casterbridge’ of Thomas Hardy’s novels.
