Enjoy a potter around the Cotswolds as we take in some of its prettiest villages. Moreton-in-Marsh is our first stop – a thriving market town whose High Street is lined with elegant 17th and 18th century buildings.
We continue to Stow-on-the-Wold, the highest of the Cotswolds' towns – historically an important trading centre where the quaint Market Sqaure is flanked by town houses, independent shops, antique centres and cosy cafés.
Enjoy a day at leisure on Christmas Day. Unwrap your presents and tuck into a traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings. Watch the King's Speech with tea, coffee and Christmas cake followed by a festive quiz. A light buffet in the evening ends a lovely day.
Our ramble around the Cotswolds continues as we visit Cirencester, the 'Capital of the Cotswolds' and a lovely market town with fascinating history.
Later in the day we call at Burford, with its famous High Street that sweeps downhill towards the River Windrush, its three-arched medieval bridge and its impressive church, both sides of the street flanked by an unbroken line of ancient houses and shops.
Return home.
