Local departure by coach, then on to St. Mawes and our hotel for four nights. We enjoy a mulled wine with a mince pie on arrival to get us into the Christmas spirit.
Today we visit Padstow, a charming fishing village on the Camel Estuary, regarded as Cornwall’s capital of seafood cuisine and made famous by celebrity chef Rick Stein. Along with its beautiful harbour it has a great selection of cafes and restaurants, gift and craft shops - perfect to do a little festive shopping or to simply enjoy the coastal views!
Merry Christmas! Relax in St. Mawes, open some presents, tuck into a traditional turkey dinner, and enjoy the festive atmosphere in the hotel with your fellow travellers.
This morning we visit the historic town of Truro. Soaring above the surrounding rooftops, the cathedral is a stunning example of neo-Gothic architecture and makes Truro into Cornwall’s only city. Stroll through the cobbled streets and mews, and enjoy the vibrant, local independent shops as well as the traders at the Pannier Market. We return to the hotel for a festive cream tea.
We depart the hotel this morning, filled with magical Christmas memories, and return home.
