Local departure by coach, then onto Bideford where we check into the Durrant House Hotel for four nights. We'll enjoy a glass of bubbly before dinner this evening and entertainment will follow.
After breakfast, we enjoy an included excursion to nearby Barnstaple. Situated on the River Taw, this is the largest town in North Devon and home to a thriving Pannier Market, which has remained largely unchanged for over 150 years – perfect for picking up any last-minute Christmas gifts!
We return to the hotel in time for a light lunch of soup and sandwiches, and a round of afternoon bingo with tea and biscuits. Entertainment and a fancy dress competition will follow dinner this evening.
Merry Christmas! Relax in the hotel, tuck into a yuletide breakfast and open some presents whilst enjoying the festive atmosphere with your fellow travellers, before your traditional Christmas Day lunch. There'll be the chance to watch the King's speech, as well as enjoy an ‘old fashioned tea dance’ and games with a serving of tea and Christmas cake, before dinner this evening.
After a relaxing morning we head for the coast to blow the cobwebs away with a trip to Ilfracombe. Enjoy the fresh air, admire the white-washed Victorian villas and take a stroll around the harbour.
We'll return to the hotel for a light lunch before another afternoon of bingo and a Christmas quiz, accompanied by tea, coffee and mince pies. After dinner there will be a memorable night of entertainment to round off our break.
Return home.
