Local departure by coach, then on to Lynton and our hotel for four nights. We enjoy a mulled wine with a mince pie on arrival to get us into the Christmas spirit.
Today we visit the quaint village of Dunster, set between the foothills of Exmoor National Park and the Somerset coast. It is considered by many as the most intact medieval village in England and is dominated by Dunster Castle. Explore at your leisure, perhap visiting the iconic Yarn Market, the remains of a Benedictine priory, or the working Watermill. We then continue to Minehead, with its pretty harbour and picturesque town centre.
Merry Christmas! Relax in Lynton, open some presents, tuck into a traditional turkey dinner, and enjoy the festive atmosphere in the hotel with your fellow travellers.
This morning we visit Ilfracombe with its white-washed buildings, grand Victorian villas and terraces and the cosmopolitan vibe with its many restaurants and galleries. Head over to Fore Street, Ilfracombe’s gastronomic hub, for restaurants and eateries galore. As a historic harbour and fishing town, you can be sure there will be an abundance of fresh seafood menus! Ilfracombe Museum is always worth a visit, as is Chambercombe Manor on the outskirts of town. We return to the hotel for a festive cream tea.
We depart the hotel this morning, filled with magical Christmas memories, and return home.
