ABOUT THE TOUR
Christmas is a truly special time of year, whether you want to spend it with family, relax in your own company, or meet new people and new friends. Join us for a mulled wine and mince pie on arrival, Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, festive cream tea each day, and a small gift from Santa! Celebrate this magical time of year in the delightful resort of Eastbourne sheltered by the rolling South Downs, with lines of colourful deckchairs along the promenade.

Day 1:
Local departure by coach, then on to Eastbourne and our hotel for four nights. We enjoy a mulled wine with a mince pie on arrival to get us into the Christmas spirit.

Day 2: Christmas Eve in Brighton
Today we visit Brighton, a popular seaside resort offering a wonderful mix of Regency heritage and specialist shops. It is famous for its unusual Royal Pavillion, which was built by King George IV in a beautiful Indian and Oriental style. Brighton is also home to one of Britain’s oldest cinemas, the Duke of York’s Picture House, and the Brighton Dome concert hall which was the location of the Eurovision song contest where ABBA won with ‘Waterloo’ in 1974. It’s cosmopolitan nature attracts all kinds of shops, boutiques, bars and restaurants - perfect to do a little Christmas Eve shopping or to simply enjoy the coastal views across the pebbled beach!

Day 3: Christmas Day at Leisure or Alfriston
Merry Christmas! Relax in Eastbourne, open some presents, tuck into a traditional turkey dinner, or join our optional excursion to Alfriston, passing awe-inspiring Beachy Head to reach this quaint village.

Day 4: Boxing Day in Worthing and Arundel
Jaunt to the lovely coastal resort of Worthing, boasting a long promenade, lovely pier and pavilion before continuing to Arundel, dominated by its imposing castle, before returning to the hotel mid-afternoon so we can relax and enjoy our afternoon tea.

We depart the hotel this morning, filled with magical Christmas memories, and return home.

Day 3: Christmas Day at leisure or Royal Tunbridge Wells
Merry Christmas! Relax in Eastbourne, open some presents, tuck into a traditional turkey dinner, or join our optional excursion to Royal Tunbridge Wells. This historic spa town is equal distance between London and the coast and has attracted visitors for hundreds of years. It lies in the heart of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in unspoilt countryside known as the Garden of England. Named Tunbridge Wells originally due to the natural spring here, then in 1909 Edward VII honoured the town with the Royal prefix as a testament to his mother, Queen Victoria, who loved the town.

Day 4: Boxing Day in Worthing
This morning we visit Worthing, a traditional seaside town complete with prom and a pier which won Pier of the Year in 2019. Why not visit the Worthing Museum and Art Gallery or simply enjoy the sea air and stroll along the front. We return to the hotel for a festive cream tea.

You will stay for four nights at the Burlington Hotel or Majestic Hotel in Eastbourne.
Formerly a Bay Hotel, stay at the Burlington, right on Eastbourne’s iconic seafront. Watch the world go by as you relax in the bar and coffee lounge. At the Burlington Hotel, you can enjoy a central location close to all of Eastbourne’s finest attractions. The world-famous Carpet Gardens, Redoubt Fortress and Eastbourne Pier are all just a stone’s throw away and the town centre with an array of shops and restaurants are just a 10-minute walk away. The hotel has great spaces for relaxing after a busy day of sightseeing. In the restaurant, you can enjoy fantastic meals at breakfast and in the evening, with great and varied menus.
Formerly a Bay Hotel, at the Majestic Hotel you will stay right on the main street along Eastbourne’s Royal Parade, close to Redoubt Fort and the world-famous Carpet Gardens. Eastbourne has been a favourite destination on the south coast for many years and the town has recently seen a revival in some of its most famous attractions. The hotel is within a short walk of Eastbourne Pier, which was recently renovated after a devastating fire in 2014. The pier has been home to Victorian Tea Rooms and the Camera Obscura for more than 100 years. As well as the relaxing lounge and open-fronted bar area giving great views of the seafront, the hotel also has a beautiful sun terrace - the perfect place to sit and watch the world go by.
