Enjoy a visit to the fascinating Beamish Open Air Museum, a living, working museum set in 300 acres of Durham countryside. The town, pit village, home farm and Pockerley Old Hall are brought to life by costumed folk, who tell the stories of life as it was in the 18th and 19th centuries. This award-winning museum has many North East tales to tell!
Step back in time and enjoy the wonder of Christmas from across our time periods. From the Georgian period through to the 1950s, delight in traditional decorations, tasty Yuletide treats and festive music.
After a full day, we return to the hotel to relax and have dinner.
After breakfast, we visit the historic city of Durham. You will have free time to explore at your own pace. A must for any visitor is the stunning cathedral, and history enthusiasts will enjoy taking in the stories of Durham. Discover the charming centre with its winding cobbled streets and squares, cosy cafés and restaurants. After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, we depart and return home.
