Staying at the 4-star Carnoustie Golf Hotel & Spa, follow in the footsteps of some of golf’s greatest players as you enjoy a round on the notable Championship course (extra charges may apply, please pay locally). If golf isn’t your thing, don’t worry, the hotel’s excellent facilities are sure to impress, boasting a swimming pool, sauna, steam room and gym, plus a restaurant offering superb food accompanied by stunning golf course views. From here, soak up the history of Glamis Castle, one of the finest castles in Scotland and the setting for Shakespeare’s Macbeth, and discover Dundee, with its regenerated quayside and abundance of shops, cafés, restaurants and bars. We’ll also enjoy a trip to coastal St Andrews and a whisky or gin distillery tour at Kingsbarns – guaranteed to be a taste sensation! Don’t miss your chance to journey up the Scottish coastline on our optional excursion, taking in pretty harbour towns and golden beaches.

Day 1:
Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then to the fantastic Carnoustie Golf Hotel & Spa for a four-night stay.

Day 2: Dundee and Glamis Castle
We head southwards to the handsome city of Dundee, with its superbly regenerated quayside, proud history in publishing and, of course, the new V&A Museum, featuring over 300 exhibits explaining Scotland’s outstanding achievements across the world.
We continue to Glamis Castle in Angus to soak up 1000 years of history at one of the finest castles in Scotland, birthplace of Princess Margaret, and the setting for Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Explore the opulent rooms and the extensive gardens and pathways.

Day 3: Day at leisure or Scottish Coast
Spend a day relaxing in Carnoustie, perhaps enjoying the leisure facilities at our upscale hotel, or join our optional excursion up the Scottish coastline to the pretty harbour town of Stonehaven, with its picturesque harbour and beach.
On our return, we call in at the seaside town of Montrose with its attractive town centre and wide sandy beach.

Day 4: St Andrews and Kingsbarns Distillery
We enjoy an exhilarating trip out to St Andrews, a wonderful town that is so much more than the 'Home of Golf'. Brimming with history, there is a ruined castle and a cathedral overlooking the beaches that featured in 'Chariots of Fire', and Scotland’s Secret Bunker is also nearby.
Our visit concludes with a whisky or gin distillery tour at Kingsbarns. Slainte!
