Hotel Location

Often described as the ‘Outdoor Capital of the UK,’ Fort William is a stunning town located in the western Scottish Highlands, overlooked by Ben Nevis – Britain’s highest mountain. The town has been used as a filming location for major motion pictures including Harry Potter, Highlander and Braveheart, and it’s easy to see why. With spectacular rolling landscapes and dramatic hills, there’s plenty for nature enthusiasts to enjoy, and no visit to the area is complete without sampling a ‘wee dram’ at the local distillery. Other popular activities include the West Highland Museum, the Jacobite Steam Train, loch cruises, and Steall Falls – one of Scotland’s highest waterfalls.

Fabulous location opposite the loch on the main road into Fort William but the double glazing kept the traffic noise down. Excellent meals plenty of choice and great service. Stayed on the ground floor basic clean and roomy but no extractor and the drain was very slow in the walk in shower. The rooms near the lift were noisy and although there are ramps and disabled parking we saw the wheelchair access to reception required a very difficult transfer to a stair lift.

We have recently returned from another Self Drive holiday to Llandudno, staying at the Marine Hotel. We had the most wonderful time - Hotel was again clean and comfortable and was beautifully warm (which was needed). All staff are wonderfully friendly and welcoming and we could not fault this holiday - we always enjoy our stay and cannot wait to return.
