We could not fault the quality of the hotel, its restaurant, the breakfast buffet or the rooms. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I think where value for money fell down was in the itinerary planning: Day one- free in Bruges, fair enough and a day well spent. Day two - Ghent , Day three Ostend. Ghent is another fascinating town with lots to see but we were dropped about 15 minutes from the centre and asked to return to the coach by 2.30 ( I recall) so only about 2 1/2 hours in the centre with little time to get the feel of the place and have lunch as well. The latter part of the afternoon was given over to an extra paid for trip to the Menin Gate in Ypres. Day 3 Ostend was another time restricted visit - though if you’ve been to Ostend, that’s not a bad thing. I think it would have been better to do Ostend and Ypres on the same day and to have had much longer in Ghent on day two. The short durations maybe due to coach parking fees? Also information for Ghent and Ostend was sadly lacking. I can’t see why the coach couldn’t have town centre maps (freely available at the Tourist Information offices) instead of us taking time traipsing around following signs to the Tourist Information office, which I recommend. The gentleman in Ghent, when he learnt we only had a couple of hours drew us a route round the city which would take in the most interesting points in the time available. Top marks. Another useful leaflet would be the location of public toilets in the centres, which are far and few between and not readily identifiable. However, in conclusion, we did enjoy this tour, and if it offers the same hotel - Le Bios de Bruges - we would recommend it.

Excellent city, good hotel, good staff but spoilt by excessive travel and disorganised feeder system.
