Golden sandy beaches, world-class attractions and spectacular scenery all await in beautiful North Devon. From our base in stunning Lynton, discover the wilds of Exmoor National Park, historic Dunster and intriguing Chambercombe Manor. We'll also visit charming Clovelly – the picturesque, ancient fishing village that hugs the cliffs and was once owned by the Queen of England.
Local departure by coach or Home Connect service then on to Lynton for a seven-night stay.
A village like no other, this ancient fishing village clings to the 400 foot cliff-side and is famous for being traffic-free, where donkeys and sledges help the locals make their way up and down the steep, cobbled streets that lead down to the harbour. On your way back up, why not take a break at one of the cosy pubs for a plate of local seafood or a Devonshire cream tea in one of the many cafés, or you may prefer to take one of the local Land Rovers back to the top (extra charges payable locally, subject to availability).
Enjoy a day at leisure in coastal Lynton, or why not join our optional excursion to Barnstaple and Bideford?
Barnstaple is an ancient market town situated on the River Taw, and here you will find a traditional pannier market, along with the usual high street shops, indoor shopping centres and local stores.
We then continue to pretty Bideford. Once Britain's third largest port, the town still has maritime connections, but today is best known as a thriving shopping centre with a historic Pannier market, the popular Atlantic Shopping Village and quirky shops that line the streets.
The optional excursions will be available to book during your tour.
Prices are per person and are subject to change. Payment will be in sterling (cash payments only).
Enjoy a scenic drive across Exmoor National Park. Straddling the counties of Devon and Somerset, Exmoor National Park is famous for its ponies, unspoilt coastline and dreamy night skies.
We travel through the heart of the park, admiring the scenery along the way, to reach medieval Dunster, a village steeped in history and home to over 200 listed buildings. Meander the winding cobbled streets that trace their way through the higgledy-piggledy thatched cottages, dotted with cute shops and quaint tearooms.
Enjoy a day at leisure in Lynton to explore at your own pace. Lynton is located 500 feet above its twin village of Lynmouth, connected by the 'olde-worlde' cliff funicular railway – a must do, which offers wonderful views across the bay.
Just down the coast lies the Valley of Rocks, which is part of the South West Coast Path. This fascinating u-shaped valley is parallel to the sea and known for its feral goats that roam freely. The jagged coastline is a sight to behold.
Another chance to relax and explore our base of Lynton on the rugged Exmoor coastline, or why not join our optional excursion travelling from the North Devon Coast to the South Devon Coast as we visit Exmouth? Exmouth is one of the oldest and most picturesque seaside towns in Devon and the gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Jurassic Coast. With its mixture of golden sands, colourful gardens and bustling harbour and town centre, there's something here to suit all tastes!
The optional excursions will be available to book during your tour.
Prices are per person and are subject to change. Payment will be in sterling (cash payments only).
Enjoy an excursion visiting Chambercombe Manor, one of the most intriguing and historic houses in the country. Mentioned in the Domesday Book, Chambercombe Manor is nestled in a secluded valley and retains much of its former grandeur.
We also call at seaside Ilfracombe – a jewel on the North Devon coast. Be charmed by the white-washed buildings, grand Victorian villas and enjoy the cosmopolitan vibe of the restaurants and galleries.
Return home.
*Clovelly is a very steep coastal village with cobbled streets. You can book a seat on the local Land Rover at the Visitor Centre to take you down to the harbour and back up (local charges apply) and this is subject to availability.
