Staying right in the heart of Bath, there is no better location to explore this UNESCO World Heritage City. Our base, the 4-star Hampton By Hilton Bath City, is perfect, offering modern rooms, friendly service and a fitness centre. Built for pleasure and relaxation, this beautiful city has been welcoming visitors since Roman times. You will step back in time into a Jane Austin novel as you walk the elegant Georgian streets and view the Royal Crescent or visit the Roman baths. The highlight of our trip is an exclusive tour of the renowned Highgrove Gardens, the private residence of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort.
Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then to Bath and the 4-star Hampton by Hilton in the centre of town for a four-night stay.
With a hotel so centrally located, a day at leisure to explore is a must! We have included a guided tour this morning with a local guide to highlight the main central sites and walk you through the history of this fascinating city.
This afternoon is yours and free to explore further.
Visit the ancient Roman Baths, the oldest and most renowned of the city’s historic attractions, or enjoy the architectural splendour of the iconic Royal Crescent, majestic Abbey and Pulteney Bridge. Bath also has a remarkable collection of galleries and museums, including a museum of Jane Austen’s life.
Highgrove has always been the private residence of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort, near Tetbury in Gloucestershire. Since 1980, when the then young Prince Charles first arrived at Highgrove, he had devoted much energy to transforming the gardens around the house, which are renowned as some of the most inspiring and innovative in the United Kingdom. Whilst we can’t visit the house itself, His Majesty kindly opens his gardens to the public and we’ll enjoy a tour with an experienced guide, who will reveal the garden’s history and some of the organic practices the King believes in.
We then continue to Cirencester, often referred to as the ‘Capital of the Cotswolds’. This lovely market town has ancient honey-coloured stone buildings, picturesque narrow streets and a fascinating history.
Discover the delights of Somerset as we travel through the beautiful scenery, calling at charming villages along the way. Firstly, we call at the village of Cheddar, home to the magnificent ravine that carves its way through the landscape.
We continue to Wells, England’s smallest cathedral city. Quintessentially English, the compact, cobbled centre is home to plenty of independent shops and high-street brands.
We round the day off with a visit to Glastonbury. Rich in myth and legend, Glastonbury is known for its ancient and medieval sights, and, of course, one of the most famous music festivals in the world!
After breakfast, we start the journey home.

We visited Highgrove Wells and Bath. Stayed in Bristol at the Leonardo hotel. Everything was very well organised even the coach transfer was painless. Would definitely use Shearings again.
