Mainz and Heidelberg Christmas Markets

Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then to Belgium for an overnight stay.

We head into Germany and visit bustling Rüdesheim, set on the River Rhine. Discover the wonderful Christmas markets here and savour some of the treats available, such as the traditional gingerbread hearts and warming mulled wine or why not try a traditional Rüdesheim coffee at one of the lovely cafés along the pedestrianised Drosselgasse.

Continue to Mainz and our hotel for four nights.

Discover picturesque Heidelberg, set on the River Neckar and overlooked by the majestic castle. Why not visit and explore 800 years of history.

Stroll along the charming winding alleyways of the Old Town, as well as soaking up the festive atmosphere at the colourful festive stalls.

Enjoy our optional visit to historic Speyer, famous for its stunning Imperial cathedral, which is the largest preserved Romanesque church in Europe.

The delightful Christmas market is held on the bustling Maximilianstrasse, in front of the Old Mint.

We have free time today to enjoy Mainz, located on the confluence of the Rhine and Main, where every year the market square becomes a stunning spectacle of lights and aromas. The imposing Cathedral of St. Martin provides a perfect backdrop to the festively decorated stalls, with their advent gifts and delicious treats.

We head back towards Belgium for an overnight stay.
