Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then on to the Rendezvous Hotel on the waterside just outside Skipton for four nights.
Our festive tour begins with an exhilarating excursion north into the Yorkshire Dales. Our route takes us through Settle, then high into the Pennines. Spot the famous Ribblehead Viaduct before we reach Hawes in Upper Wensleydale, home to cheese and a thriving local Tuesday market.
After dinner tonight, we enjoy a Yorkshire quiz at the hotel.
We board the hotel's own boat, Graceful Swan, which is also the UK's only electric powered dining canal boat. With no engine, Graceful Swan simply glides into the market town where you'll have free time to visit Skipton market or its castle. Sandwiches, scones, tea and coffee are served on board as we gently sail back to the hotel.
Enjoy a trip to UNESCO World Heritage Saltaire, the Italianate village built by textile magnate and philanthropist Sir Titus Salt for his workers. Be sure to wear a hat as our return journey is punctuated with a visit to Ilkley, where free time may allow a visit to Betty's Café Tea Room.
Back at the hotel our stay reaches its climax with live entertainment after dinner.
Our rendezvous in Skipton ends with fond farewells, as we make our way home.
