We venture into the Lake District today with a visit to stunning Bowness-on-Windermere. One of the most popular destinations in the region, there are ample shops and cafés to keep you entertained, or why not head down to the water’s edge and admire the breathtaking view?
From Bowness, we take to the waters with Windermere Cruises and sail to Ambleside at the head of the lake, enjoying some free time in the town to explore.
Enjoy a day at leisure in Grange-over-Sands, or join our optional excursion to Keswick and Grasmere.
Keswick is located on the shores of beautiful Derwentwater, and the main square is flanked by independent shops, quaint cafés and art galleries. Admire the beautiful surrounding scenery from the shores of the lake, before we make our way to pretty Grasmere. This charming village is the home of Wordsworth, as well as the tiny Sarah Nelson's Gingerbread Shop situated in the grounds of the churchyard.

Enjoy a scenic drive into the pretty Yorkshire Dales as we visit Hawes. Here we visit Wensleydale Creamery – home to the famous cheese! You can learn more about the cheese-making process in the fascinating visitor centre, taste some samples and enjoy a bite to eat in the fantastic café!
