Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then on to the Scottish Borders for three nights
Included excursion to explore Scotland's historic capital Edinburgh. Have free time to visit the castle where you can see the crown jewels, St Margarets Chapel and Mons Meg one of the oldest cannons in Europe. Enjoy the medieval atmosphere of the Royal Mile or maybe explore Princes Street, a paradise for shopaholics!
Visit the pretty border town of Jedburgh. Up to the 17th century Jedburgh's position as a frontier town placed it in the midst of national battles and cross-border raids. The red sandstone abbey on the banks of the Jed Water was founded in 1138 by David I and was pillaged and rebuilt many times. Mary Queen of Scots stayed here in 1566, at a house which now tells the story of her tragic life.
Return home.

Well organised and felt looked after. However, would have appreciated more information from Shearings on the necessity to book ahead for visitor attractions in Edinburgh and an estimated time of arrival/leaving to plan time slot.
