Festive Tyrol, Innsbruck and Salzburg

Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then to Belgium for an overnight stay.

Through Germany and into Austria to reach our hotel in Alpbach for five nights.

Today, we’ll see some wonderful scenery around the Tyrol. After breakfast, we visit Swarovski Crystal World which celebrates the iconic crystal. Admire the Swarovski Giant, Chambers of Wonder and Crystal Cloud.

We then head to Innsbruck, where the city is filled with interesting monuments, such as the Triumphal Arch and the city’s Old Town. We include a guided walking tour where you will enjoy some of the highlights, including the iconic Golden Roof. There will also be time for a stroll through the Christmas Market. The market stalls are a treasure trove for Christmas tree decorations, handicrafts, woollen goods and souvenirs.

Today, we visit the picturesque walled town of Kitzbuhel. The town will be decorated for Christmas with its Christmas Advent event including a traditional Christmas Market showcasing gifts and delicacies of the region. Local choirs and music groups provide an atmospheric setting as we build up to Christmas.

Deck the halls - Merry Christmas to you all! This morning we make the short drive to Kufstein where we will enjoy a guided tour and visit to the imposing Fortress. Follow in the footsteps of enemy armies who tried to conquer the fortress and learn the history of the fortress on our tour and visit to its museum.

After our traditional roast turkey lunch at our hotel, you will have free time to enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

The city of Salzburg makes for an excellent excursion, the city famous for being home to the Sound of Music. Enjoy the old town with its impressive fortress and cathedral, take time out to visit the house where Mozart was born or relax in the Mirabell Gardens. There are numerous architectural styles to be found in Salzburg, including Romanesque, gothic, renaissance, baroque and many more modern styles. We’ll be able to admire this architecture throughout our visit, as well as exploring the city itself to see its many attractions.

We leave Austria and head back towards Belgium for an overnight stay.
