Combining a cruise along the majestic Rhine with visits to two of Germany’s most enchanting Christmas markets, this tour is the perfect way to get into the festive spirit. Taking in the best of this elegant river, including the iconic Lorelei and beautiful scenery of the Rhine Gorge, our first stop is stunning Koblenz. Immerse yourself in the wonderful atmosphere as you browse cosy stalls brimming with unique gifts, before discovering the magnificent city of Cologne and its array of Christmas markets. Staying aboard the MS Serenade 1, this will be a river cruise to remember.

Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then to Cologne where we join our ship. We enjoy a relaxing evening as we sail towards Koblenz.
Enjoy a leisurely morning as we cruise along the mighty Rhine, passing the legendary Lorelei and continuing through the spectacular Rhine Gorge. In the early afternoon we arrive into Koblenz, at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle rivers. Here we have free time to visit the Koblenz Christmas Market, with over 130 festively decorated wooden stalls offering a range of handmade gifts and Christmas decorations. Enjoy a glass of glühwein whilst listening to festive music playing. Alternatively, you can explore the city’s quaint lanes and atmospheric squares filled with beautiful old buildings.
After breakfast we cruise up the Rhine to discover the beautiful city of Cologne. The hive of festive activity takes place around the cathedral and the old town, where you will find a maze of pretty stalls also offering outstanding arts and crafts. There are also a number of smaller markets to enjoy including the Harbour Christmas Markets held on the Rhine, with snowy white pagoda tents reminiscent of a ship’s sails.
We bid farewell to our captain and crew this morning and return home.
You will stay for three nights on a full-board basis aboard the MS Serenade 1.
