    Explore romantic Hever Castle and its exquisitely presented gardens.

    Here you’ll find lavishly furnished rooms and one of the best collections of Tudor portraits and tales of Royalty, as this was the childhood home of Anne Boleyn. Set in magnificent gardens, this romantic castle formed the backdrop to a sequence of tumultuous events that changed the course of British history forever.

    Enjoy a day at your own pace in Eastbourne. Located on the Sunshine Coast, Eastbourne has an abundance of seaside attractions and when the spectacular Carpet Gardens are in full bloom they are a sight to behold!

  • Day 4: Herstmonceux Gardens

    Visit the gardens and grounds of Herstmonceux Castle. Stroll the themed gardens and woodland trails, as well as the beautiful lake and moat walks, which circle the stunning castle.

    The prestigious Elizabethan Garden is a highlight. Dating back to 1570, by the Victorian period the garden had fallen into decline. After the castle and estate were purchased by Lieutenant Claude Lowther, the painstaking process of restoration began and the garden's two impressive lawns are bordered by English yew hedges and aromatic English lavender.

    Enjoy a day at leisure in seaside Eastbourne or why not join our optional excursion to hilltop Rye. This once-fortified town played an important role in the defence of the south coast of England, with tales of smugglers and highwaymen to be discovered amongst the cobbled streets and secret passages.

    We also call at historic Hastings, where the ruins of the castle watch over the town and the three-mile stretch of glorious seafront.

  • Day 7: Sissinghurst Castle Garden

    Sissinghurst Castle Garden was the backdrop for a diverse history, from its astonishing time as a prison to being the home of the women's land army. The gardens here evoke the surroundings, with a Rose Garden, Lime Walk, White Garden and the colourful Cottage Garden.

    "Cram, cram, cram every chink and cranny" was the approach to planting by Vita Sackville-West when her and her husband took ownership of the Sissinghurst Castle in 1930, and they set to work designing a garden that now is world-renowned and delights visitors from across the world.
