    Local Attractions

    • Melton Mowbray is the closest town and a public bus runs into the town in less than 10 minutes. Buses are irregular though so please ask reception for information.
    • The town is famed for it's food and having a Pork Pie and some Stilton cheese are absolute musts. There are a number of fantastic pubs and restaurants in the town and in villages nearby to the hotel, The Rose and Crown at Hose and The Nags Head in Saltby are recommended by local gourmets.
    • Melton Mowray train station has connections to Leicester in 15 minutes and Birmingham in just over an hour.
    • The discovery of Richard III's remains in 2012 led to a resurgence in interest in the King, there are now a number of exhibitions based around him in Leicester and make a fascinating day out.
