Day One - Home to Whitby
We’ll make our way from the interchange to Whitby, where we’ll check in to the Bay Royal Hotel and will enjoy an evening meal. (D)

Days Two to Seven - Whitby
We spend the next six days in Whitby, with three included excursions taking us to some Yorkshire highlights.

We take an excursion to York, the city has almost 2000 years worth of history being the provincial capital of many dynasties including being the traditional county town of Yorkshire. While here you will have free time to explore the city and learn some of its history, or simply enjoy spending time in its beautiful old town.

We also visit the beautiful town of Beverley, the town was at one point one of the richest in England which was both due to and reflected in the grand Beverley Minster. While in town we will visit the Scarborough Fair Collection where you can see a magnificent collection of working vintage cars, steam engines and fairground rides.

We will also take a journey on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway to the town of Pickering, while there enjoy the fantastic parish church and castle, which are as old as the town itself.

You will have plenty of time to explore Whitby at leisure. Enjoy beautiful Whitby Abbey or any of a number of museums including the Captain Cook Museum and Whitby Lifeboat Museum. Climb to the top of the old lighthouse for great views of the coast and the town, or just enjoy the view at the harbour, enjoying some legendary fish and chips.   (B,D)

Day Eight - Whitby to Home
Time to say goodbye today; we depart after breakfast and make our way to the interchange before returning home. (B)

Travel just outside of town and you will be in the stunning North Yorkshire Moors. Take a train into the heart of this region or hop on the bus and take in ‘Britain’s most scenic bus route’.

In the hotel you can enjoy tasty breakfast, midday and evening meals before enjoy an after meal drink in the scenic bar and lounge. You can also experience fantastic evening entertainment in the hotel’s modern ballroom.

Excursion including visits to the beautiful market town of Beverley and the fantastic Scarborough Fair Collection which features a magnificent working collection of vintage cars, steam engines, vintage fairground rides and mechanical organs. Our visit includes one ride on the vintage carousel.


Full Day: York Combi

Trip to the historic city of York, with its magnificent gothic Minster, city walls, museums and delightful cobbled streets of The Shambles where interesting shops abound.


Half Day North Yorkshire Moors Railway and Pickering

Excursion enjoying a journey aboard the lovingly restored carriages of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway to Pickering, where we enjoy a little free time before returning to Whitby.
