Valley of Rocks Hotel
Stay at the heart of a national nature reserve among the amazing scenery of the North Devon coast with views over the harbour and plenty of cafes and shops to enjoy nearby.
The Valley of the Rocks is located in the quaint village of Lynton with a number of independent shops to explore locally. It’s a great place to take in some stunning coastal scenery, being set in Exmoor National Park right on the South West Coast Path which takes in nearby Foreland Point and the Valley of Rocks after which the hotel is named.
The hotel is the perfect place to explore Exmoor national park, a wild landscape with a huge and varied amount of wildlife and unique dark moorland. Take a trail up to one of the park’s many hills where you can see great views over this stunning landscape and out to sea.
In the hotel you can upgrade to a standard plus or superior room, which will not only give you increased space and comfort but also great views over Lynmouth Bay. The restaurant serves sumptuous meals for breakfast and in the evening while midday meals are available in the bar area.
Trip through Exmoor to visit Dunster
Today we travel across the wild moors of Exmoor national park, viewing open terrain that extends for miles. Our first stop will be the pretty village of Dunster, famous for its castle and yarn market that indicate the importance this village has held in previous eras. Our day concludes in Lynmouth, in the valley below our hotel at Lynton, the picturesque village has many tea rooms to choose from and it's possible to get down to the shore here using the cliff railway.
