Day One - UK to Metz
Across to Calais and an en route dinner before arriving at Metz for an overnight stay.
Day Two - Metz to Lugano
We depart Metz and travel to Lugano for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day Three - Lugano to Venice
Embark the MS Michelangelo and enjoy dinner on board.
Day Four - Venice – Chioggia – Taglio di Po – Polesella
Enjoy a morning’s cruise to Chioggia (or nearby). Embark on an optional guided tour of Padua, famous for art and pilgrimages, or enjoy an included transfer to Sottomarina. Meanwhile, the ship cruises to Taglio di Po in time for dinner.
Day Five - Polesella – Ferrara – Verona – Taglio di Po
After breakfast, there is an optional visit to Ferrara, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Return to the ship for lunch, after which you could join an optional excursion to Verona, a truly fine Italian city of Romeo and Juliet fame, with its Roman theatre. Returning to the MS Michelangelo in Polesella, we continue our cruise to Taglio di Po and arrive this evening.
Day Six - Taglio di Po – Chioggia (or nearby) – Venice
This morning, you may journey by coach to the Roman port city of Chioggia on an optional excursion, or spend the morning exploring at leisure. We cruise back to Venice this afternoon. Consider an optional guided tour of Doge’s Palace, and the famous Piazza San Marco. Enjoy time to further explore Venice after dinner.
Day Seven - Venice
Spend the morning discovering Venice at leisure, or join our optional gondola trip. We then cruise in Venice’s lagoon, with an optional excursion to the lagoon islands of Murano and Burano this afternoon. Return to the ship for our evening’s cruise to Venice, enjoying a gala dinner and our final night in this iconic city.
Day Eight - Venice to Geneva
After breakfast, it’s time to disembark and travel to Geneva for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day Nine - Geneva to Reims Area
We depart Geneva and continue our homeward journey to the Reims Area for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day Ten - Reims Area to UK
We depart the Reims Area and return to the UK, via Calais.
Ferrara Guided Tour
Located on the Po River and with a history stretching back to mid-700 AD, Ferrara is full of history and culture and is a wonderful place to visit. The city has many palaces dating from the 14th and 15th centuries, as well as ancient walls dating from the 15th century.
Doge's Palace and St Mark's Square
Our guided visit will begin with Doge’s Palace, a Venetian Gothic palace that is still today one of Venice’s most notable landmarks. With its stunning architecture and important historical significance, which palace is always interesting to visit, and is a sight for sore eyes.
We’ll then move on to St Mark’s Square, the only piazza in Venice, and famous for St Mark’s Basilica, which lies at the eastern edge of the square.
Guided Tour of Chioggia
Enjoy a wonderful guided tour of Chioggia, a beautiful coastal town in Venice, famous for being a miniature version of this famous city. Take in its charming canals, its characteristic narrow streets (known as ‘calli’), and its medieval architecture.
Guided tour of Padua
Padua is famous for being the setting of Shakespeare’s play The Taming of the Shrew and is a lovely city in the Vento region of Italy. During this guided visit, we’ll get to see some of the city’s many sights in order to find out more about this excellent location.
Discover the magnificent Lagoon Islands of Murano and Burano during our excellent excursion today, taking in the scenic delights of this beautiful part of Venice.
Venice Gondola Ride
Experience Venice from its famous canals as we take an optional gondola ride. See the beautiful architecture, while travelling along these busy waterways and enjoying the pleasant atmosphere. Venice is well-known for its canals, which connect this floating city, and our optional excursion will give us a chance to admire one of Italy’s most beautiful cities from a different perspective.
Verona Guided Walking Tour
While we’re in Verona, we’ll be able to enjoy an excellent guided walking tour of the city to find out more about its past, and to see its best sights. With an expert guide, we’ll explore more of this wonderful location and will learn all about its heritage.
