Explore the magnificent Tyrol, Austria’s picture-perfect mountain region. With Alpine scenery galore, as well as plenty of bustling towns and cities to discover, the Tyrol is always an exciting place to visit. On our holiday, we’ll take in some of its best sights, including Salzburg, Kufstein and Innsbruck.
Salzburg is famous for The Sound of Music, although there’s plenty more to discover here. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997, Salzburg is filled with beautiful sights, including the Old Town, the Cathedral, Mirabell Palace, and Mozart’s birthplace.
We’ll also take a trip to Kufstein, where we can soak up the incredible Alpine views and admire Kufstein Fortress, which overlooks the town. Wander through the Altstadt (Old Town) and take in its picturesque lanes and old buildings.
Our final excursion will take us to Innsbruck, the Tyrol’s capital and largest city. There’s so much to see here, and we’ll have time at leisure to take it all in, from the famous Goldenes Dachl (Golden Roof) building, to the Imperial Hofburg.
Day One - UK to Belgium
We’ll make our way from the UK to Belgium, via Calais, and will spend the night at a comfortable hotel.
Day Two - Belgium to Brandenberg
In the morning, we’ll continue our journey into Brandenberg, where we’ll stay at the Hotel Ascherwirt for the next six nights. (B,D)
Days Three to Seven - Brandenberg
There’s plenty to discover during our holiday, as we explore the beautiful city of Salzburg, as well as enjoying time to discover Kufstein at leisure. In addition to this, we’ll also spend time in historical Innsbruck to see its many sights. (B,D)
Day Eight - Brandenberg to Belgium
After breakfast today we will say goodbye to Brandenberg and retrace our steps to Belgium, where we will stay at an overnight hotel. (B,D)
Day Nine - Belgium to UK
We’ll return to the UK today, travelling from Liege via Calais and then continuing home. (B)

Full Day: Salzburg
The city of Salzburg makes for an excellent excursion, the city famous for being home to the Sound of Music. Enjoy the old town with its impressive fortress and cathedral, take time out to visit the house where Mozart was born or relax in the Mirabell Gardens.
There are numerous architectural styles to be found in Salzburg, including Romanesque, gothic, renaissance, baroque and many more modern styles. We’ll be able to admire this architecture throughout our visit, as well as exploring the city itself to see its many attractions.
Full Day: Innsbruck
A charming city and the capital of the Tyrol, Innsbruck is surrounded by the high Alps and is a fantastic place to visit. It has plenty of charm thanks to its impressive architecture, including the splendid Golden Roof landmark, which dates from 1500 and was built for Emperor Maximilian I when he married Bianca Maria Sforza.
Alongside this, there are also a wide choice of shops and restaurants in the quaint Maria-Theresien Strasse, and other attractions include the Tyrolean State Museum, Innsbruck Cathedral, Ambras Castle and much more.
Half Day: Kufstein
Join us on our visit to charming Kufstein, a village just over the border from Bavaria. This charming destination is dominated by an ancient fortress, first mentioned in 1205. Today it houses the local museum, and the biggest open air organ in the world can be found in the castle tower.
Full Day: Tyrolean Villages
We'll explore some of the nearby Tyrolean villages to discover traditional atmospheres and pretty townscapes, visiting Kitzbuhl, Kirchberg and Westendorf during our excursion. In Kitzbuhl we'll find charming medieval architecture, and in bustling Kirchberg can enjoy the surrounding alpine setting. Meanwhile, Westendorf is a wonderful little town with something for everyone, from shopping to sightseeing. Explore at leisure during our time in these three superb settings.
Guided walking tour of Innsbruck
To learn more about Innsbruck, and to take in even more of the splendid sights, we’ll also be able to join an optional guided walking tour of the city. This will give us greater insight into Innsbruck’s history, and will allow us to tour more of the city.

Half Day: Berchtesgaden
Join our excellent excursion to the beautiful town of Berchtesgaden, situated in a valley surrounded by the German Alps. Berchtesgaden has retained its original, charming character, with the house fronts, palace and market place still being decorated with pretty murals.
Half Day: Wendelstein Rack Railway
We offer a half day excursion to enjoy a ride on the Wendlestein Rack Railway. Take in the spectacular views as we travel through seven tunnels, eight galleries and over twelve bridges to the 1838 metre high mountain summit.
Swarovski Crystal World
Today we head to Wattens, where we visit the glittering Swarovski World. Swarovski Crystals are known the world over, and we’ll be able to visit this interesting venue to enjoy a tour and learn more about the company's history and heritage. We’ll also find out how these beautiful crystals are created, as well as seeing amazing crystals on display.
