Day One - Home to Windermere
We’ll make our way from the interchange to Windermere, where we’ll check in to the Windermere Hotel and will enjoy an evening meal. (D)
Day Two - Windermere
Enjoy an included excursion to discover Kendal and Bowness-on-Windermere today. (B,D)
Day Three - Windermere to Home
Time to say goodbye today; we depart after breakfast and make our way to the interchange before returning home. (B)
The Windermere is an iconic hotel with views over the town and lake Windermere. It is the perfect place from which to explore the lakes and many of the region’s most stunning walks can be started nearby.
Windermere is a thriving lakeside town with a number of attractions including The World of Beatrix Potter. Whatsmore, the streets are lined with local shops, bustling cafes and stylish restaurants for you to enjoy..
Going further into the Lake District national park you can discover one of the prettiest little villages, Grasmere set in a valley next to the lake. Or visit Ambleside at the end of Lake Windermere, which is said to have the most pubs per person of the population than any village in the country.
Staying in the Windermere Hotel you can enjoy fantastic and varied menus in the restaurant with breakfast and evening meals available. Then in the evening why not have a nightcap in the hotel’s brand new Orrest Head Lodge Bar.
Kendal and Bowness-on-Windermere
We’ll visit the attractive market town of Kendal today, famous for its delicious mint cake. We’ll be able to visit the bustling town centre to enjoy some shopping, before continuing on to pretty Bowness on the shores of Lake Windermere. Here, we can enjoy the lovely views over the lake and can also pick up some souvenirs from the high street.
