Winter is a magical time to visit the Black Forest, famous for its beautiful scenery of pine-clad hills dotted with villages. We visit the Christmas Markets in Freiburg and Konstanz, both offering a wide range of special gifts and traditional Christmas delicacies from the Black Forest region and beyond.

Day One: UK to France
We start our journey as we cross to Calais. From here we continue to our overnight hotel.

Day Two: France to Braunlingen
We depart after breakfast and make our way into Germany to our welcoming hotel in Braunlingen. On route we call at Strasbourg Christmas Market with free time to explore. (B,D)

Day Three to Five: Braunlingen
Enjoy our included excursions whilst in resort, visiting festive markets and taking in the seasonal Black Forest scenery. (B,D)

Day Six: Braunlingen to France
Sadly it is time to retrace our steps back through Germany and to our overnight hotel. On route we call at Colmar to experience this magical Christmas Market. (B,D)

Day Seven: France to UK
We return to Calais for our crossing back to the UK and make our way onward home. (B)

Colmar Christmas Market

On our way back to our overnight hotel, we call at pretty Colmar, across the French border in Alsace, where the Christmas Market takes place in the Old Town.


Freiburg's Christmas Market

Freiburg's Christmas Market is located in the very heart of the beautiful historical quarter. It offers a wide range of traditional art and crafts from the black forest including straw shoes and colourful wooden toys. The highlight being the candle workshop where you can observe real beeswax candles being made. Then on to visit the quaint town of Triberg, home to beautiful medieval architecture.


Konstanz Christmas Market

With Lake Konstanz as the stunning backdrop, this idyllic Christmas Market has around 200 festive stalls with thousands of Christmas lights and seasonal aromas.


Strasbourg Christmas Market

On route we journey into the Alsace region of France and call at the beautiful city of Strasbourg, for free time to visit the colourful Christmas Market.
