    Holiday not on sale

Sorry, this holiday is currently not on sale

The museum documents her life, both before and during the war, and is located within the actual house where Anne Frank and her family hid during World War II. The house has been wonderfully preserved, to ensure the authenticity of visitors’ experiences.

Continuing into Germany, we stay for three nights in Berlin, and on our guided city tour will we see poignant places associated with World War II, imagining events-past that changed history. We visit the chilling, but interesting, Topography of Terror, where documentation and individual stories recount Hitler’s rise to power and the Nazi regime. In your free time in Berlin, you could choose to visit some of the many other museums, such as Checkpoint Charlie and the Allied Museum.

In Poland we will stay in Krakow for three nights and remember the lives lost as we visit infamous Auschwitz, where the first concentration camp was opened. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this stands as evidence of one of the greatest crimes ever perpetrated against humanity. During our time in Krakow, we also visit Oskar Schindler’s Factory, where over 1,000 Jews were employed and consequently saved during the Holocaust.

On our journey back home we also visit Nuremberg, where we’ll be given a guided tour of the historic city.

    Anne Frank house

The city of Amsterdam was greatly affected by World War II, with German occupation occurring early on in the war. While Amsterdam suffered little physical damage to its buildings, many of its inhabitants were persecuted for being Jewish.

When we get to Amsterdam, we’ll be able to find out all about this part of the city’s history by visiting the fascinating Anne Frank House. It documents the life of this iconic girl, who, along with her family, hid from Nazi persecution in Amsterdam. The museum provides insight into Anne Frank’s life, as well as providing more information on all forms of discrimination.

    Berlin city view

Berlin, the capital city of Germany, is a fantastic location that’s filled with history. However, it faced the brunt of the Allied forces’ air raids during World War II, and so much of the original architecture and buildings were destroyed. Not only this but, after the war, the city was literally divided with the formation of the Berlin Wall, which saw an east and a west Berlin created, with both having incredibly opposing ways of life.

While in Berlin we’ll get to go on a city tour to uncover the history of this city, and to find out how it was affected by the war and the resulting division of the city. After this tour, we’ll visit the Topography of Terror museum, which is located on the original site of the Gestapo and SS headquarters and delves into the formation of the Third Reich and the crimes committed throughout the war.

    City square in Krakow

Looking at Krakow today, it’s easy to forget the crimes that were committed in this beautiful city. While here, we’ll take a guided city tour in order to find out more about the history and how this affected the Polish people.

We will also visit the famous Oskar Schindler's Factory, where Schindler was able to shield thousands of Jewish workers from evacuation at the hands of the Nazis. Exhibitions at the factory explain how and why Schindler took the great and noble risk of protecting Jewish workers in the face of Nazi oppression.

    Nuremberg

A city fit for a king; don’t miss this opportunity to discover the undeclared capital of the Holy Roman Empire, where the beer is as dark as the coffee. The cityscape of Nuremberg, Bavaria’s second largest city, is dominated by the stunning castle, a mighty fortress built in 1140.

Of course, Nuremberg is also known for the German activities that took place here before and during the Second World War, and our guided city tour will uncover some of these atrocities in order to learn more about life during wartime.

Other highlights of our tour will include the Imperial Castle, the historical St John’s Cemetery, the Palace of Justice and the remains of the former Nazi Party Rally Grounds.

    Auschwitz
    Full Day: Auschwitz

The Auschwitz concentration camp was the site on which the Nazi’s committed their terrible crimes against Jews and many other minorities within Nazi-occupied Europe. The museum provides a stark look at what occurred during the war, and is an important part of the country’s history.

We’ll experience a guided tour of the camp, with full information relating to the museum and the history of the camp provided by an experienced tour guide.
