The main inclusion on any Dutch Bulbfields tour has to be Keukenhof Gardens and we have a full day to explore the gardens. From wandering through the amazing displays to strolling round the many greenhouses you will be amazed by over 7 million bulbs that are planted each year.
This bulbfields tour also includes a superb inclusion featuring the very best of Holland. We will cruise the Ijsselmeer from Enkhuizen to Medemblik and then journey through Holland from Medemblik to Hoorn on board a steam train. We finish the day at a cheese and clog factory. We finish the tour with an en route visit to Antwerp, Belgium’s fashionable city.

Day One - UK to Holland
We drive to Dover and cross to Calais before continuing to our hotel in Amersfoort.

Day Two - Keukenhof Gardens
Today we make the short journey to Keukenhof Gardens. Stroll through the maze of paths and explore these large gardens that have been welcoming visitors since 1949. Spread across 34 hectares you walk through a myriad of colours and over 800 different varieties of tulips amongst others. (B,D)

Day Three - Cruise, steam train, clogs and cheese
We start our day by driving across the Houtribdijk, built between 1963 and 1975. Keep any eye out for the radio station half way across. We then board the Museum Ship Friesland for our cruise on the Ijsselmeer before enjoying our steam train to Hoorn. Keep an eye out for the bulbfields which may be in full bloom! We finish our day visiting De Simonehoeve, a cheese and clog factory where these traditional Dutch crafts will be demonstrated. (B,D)

Day Four - Antwerp
Today we depart Amersfoort and travel to Antwerp for our en route visit. Some must see sights include the Cathedral or our Lady, Ruben’s House and the MAS Museum, which includes some stunning views form its roof-top terrace. For the beer lovers the De Koninck brewery tour has been renovated and now offer a superb interactive visit. We then continue to our overnight hotel in France. (B,D)

Day Five - Return home
We make the short trip to Calais and make our return crossing before continuing our journey home. (B)

There are a number of ‘must-see’ sights in the city, such as the Cathedral of Our Lady, Rubens House, the Museum aan de Stroom (MAS) and the Museum Plantin-Moretus. We’ll be able to tour some of these attractions during our stay in the city, and will also be able to wander through the streets admiring the pretty architecture.

Cruise the Ijsselmeer and journey through the Bulbfields by steam train before finishing your day watching demonstrations of cheese and clog making.


Full Day: Keukenhof Gardens

Experience the dazzling floral displays in the seven themed gardens with a never-ending variety of spring bulbs and flowers. Admire beautiful tulips, daffodils, narcissi, hyacinths and many other varieties of flowers, taking in the kaleidoscope of colour.
