    Must See: Keukenhof Gardens
Keukenhof is an acclaimed spring garden, and during its short two month opening period each year it receives visitors from all over the world.

It is also the largest bulb park in the world, with over seven million bulbs planted by hand each year. The result is simply breathtaking, and is a sight not to be missed.

Established over 50 years ago by the town mayor of Lisse, the idea behind the gardens was to present flowers where growers from all over Europe could show off their hybrids, helping the Dutch export industry.

    Het Loo Palace
Full Day: Het Loo Palace and Gardens

Het Loo Palace is the most stunning palace in Holland. The former royal residence of Het Loo was built in the late 17th-century for the Stadtholder William III of Orange and his consort Mary II Stuart, the King and Queen of England.

The sumptuous interiors feature items of furniture, objects and paintings belonging to the generations of royal family members. The authentic fabrics used for the wall coverings and windows are quite exceptional. The stables at Het Loo Palace house many of the carriages, sleighs and vehicles belonging to the royal family and are still in use today when the Queen is in residence.

Meanwhile, the layout of the gardens have a characteristically strict symmetry. Many of the rare plant specimens were brought from all over the world. The gardens are designed to be viewed as a seasonally-changing flower and plant exhibition, thus the flowers are planted individually, rather than in groups.

To each side of the palace are William and Mary’s private gardens, aptly named the King’s garden and the Queen’s garden. The King’s Fountain at the rear of the Upper garden rises up to 13 metres, and it is the highest spouting fountain in Europe. The garden statues, which depict gods and goddesses from Greek myths, all have to do with the growth and flourishing of the garden - Venus, the goddess of love, takes centre stage.

    Gardens at Keukenhof
    Keukenhof Gardens

Admire the stunning floral displays at Keukenhof Gardens with seven themed gardens. Set in a park intersected by canals and lakes, the world's greatest flower show draws huge spring crowds to its lines of tulips, hyacinths and daffodils. Stroll through a carpet of diverse colours and scents, admiring the handiwork of a dedicated team of horticulturalists.

    Beer and Music Festival
    De Koninck Brewery Tour
Join us for a tour of the famous De Koninck brewery, known for its connection with the city of Antwerp. Walk through this active brewery and discover its fascinating history, and learn how this brew is still crafted on-site today. Afterwards, we'll sample some De Koninck beer for ourselves with a tasting experience.
    Delightful Delft

Join us as we explore one of the prettiest cities in Holland. Delft is probably best known for the blue and white porcelain and pottery that originates from the area, known as Delftware.

Delft is one of Holland’s historical centres and is home to the Dutch royal family. The centre of Delft has a number of very interesting historical buildings and churches, such as the City Hall, the Oude Kerk (Old Church) and the Nieuwe Kerk (New Church).

Following our guided walking tour, we head to the New Church (entrance included). The church tower is the second highest in Holland and is also the resting place of the Dutch Royal family. We then head to the Royal Porcelain Factory.

    Volendam Harbour
    Volendam and Edam

The picturesque village of Volendam is one of the best known ports of the old Zuiderzee, and is a favourite Dutch resort. It is also famous for its association with famous artists such as Picasso and Renoir who were attracted to the area. Wander along the narrow alleyways which wind between the pretty gabled houses. Step back in time with a visit to a traditional cheese farm where you can gain an insight into cheese making and enjoy an included tasting.

We then continue to explore the town of Edam, famous for the production of the cheese with which it shares its name. We’ll find many shops selling Edam cheese, and will also be able to find a lot of other shops selling handmade wares and interesting gifts for friends and family at home.

    Amsterdam Windmill
    Waterways and Windmills

The Netherlands is world-famous for its windmills, and today there are still more than 1,000 mills. Nowhere in the world will you find as many windmills as in the Dutch village of Kinderdijk. In 1740, no less than 19 sturdy mills were built here to drain excess water from the Alblasserwaard polders, which are situated below sea-level. The powerful mill sails transmit the force of the wind on to the large paddle-wheels, which scoop up the water.

According to legend, the name Kinderdijk owes its name to an incident during a flood in the 15th century. A cradle carrying a child floated on the waves of the river, with the cradle kept afloat by a cat. Eventually, the cradle became stranded on the slope of a dike. The spot where this event happened was named Kinderdijk.

In 1997, the mills of Kinderdijk were added to the World Heritage List of UNESCO and are one of the Netherlands' most popular tourist attractions. Join us for this truly wonderful Dutch Experience as we enjoy a full guided tour of the Pumphouse – with a full explanation of how the windmills work and how they have played a vital role in Holland’s past.

We then continue to the Visitor’s Windmill where you may wish to climb the stairs (approx 60) to reach the top of the windmill, which offers spectacular views. After this, we'll enjoy a relaxing cruise, seeing the windmills from a different perspective.
