    Staying at the Gretna Hall Hotel, which was originally built in 1710 as a manor house, we’ll enjoy this hotel’s characterful style, while also making the most of its contemporary facilities. The hotel is also set in 10 acres of beautiful gardens, so we’ll be able to admire the wonderful landscape of the Borders here. 

    As with all Your Time holidays, our break to the Scottish Borders is absolutely ideal for those who like to travel alone. With absolutely no single supplements, and the services of a friendly, experienced holiday host, as well as the chance to meet new people and make new friends, this break is perfect for single travellers. 

    We’ll have two included excursions to enjoy during our break, as we travel to Dumfries and then the dramatic Drumlanrig Castle, before we explore lively Carlisle and immerse ourselves in its fascinating history.

    We’ll call at the Borders market town of Dumfries, before going on to visit Drumlanrig Castle, where we can immerse ourselves in history. Beautiful on the outside, the castle is just as stunning on the inside, and we can admire the magnificent staircases, ornate features and cosy parlours during our visit.

    We’ll take a trip to the Border city of Carlisle. With a history dating back to the 12th century, there is plenty to discover here, from the medieval castle and beautiful cathedral, to the many shopping opportunities that we’ll find while in the city.
