A country so diverse, so steeped in history and boasting some of the most spectacular scenery you can imagine, choosing where to go in Scotland is a really difficult decision. Our special touring holiday, which stays in our own hotels across the country, means you don’t have to decide! Enjoy the beauty of the Borders, explore historic Edinburgh, admire the scenery of the island dotted West Coast and have your breath taken away by the awesome vistas of the majestic Highlands. Along the way, we‘ll visit some of the country’s most popular attractions and destinations as well as taking in the sights on our journeys from one location to the next.

Day One
We depart the Interchange and head north, crossing the border into Scotland and on to Oban where we check in to the Bay Great Western Hotel and enjoy our evening meal. (D)

Day Two
Trip to the beautiful Isle of Mull where we visit the picture-postcard village of Tobermory, where the beautiful bay is framed by brightly coloured buildings and high, wooded hills. (B,D)

Day Three
Today is a free day for you to discover pretty Oban. Perhaps walk up to the colloseum like mccaigs Tower to take in the views, enjoy a tipple at the Oban Distillery or join one of the many day trips available by boat, from the harbour to some of the islands of the Inner Hebrides. (B,D)

Day Four
After breakfast we leave the West Coast behind and start our journey to Border country. We travel via the Trossachs National Park, calling at bustling Callander on the banks of the River Teith. We continue on and take a trip on the Falkirk Wheel. It is impossible not to be impressed by the Falkirk Wheel – an absolute feat of engineering, it is the world’s only rotating boat life and raises boats 24 metres between the two canals. Later in the day, we arrive in Melrose where we check in to the Bay Waverley Castle Hotel. (B,D)

Day Five
Enjoy a trip to historic Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital city. Have free time to perhaps visit the castle, take in the medieval atmosphere of the Royal Mile or maybe explore Princes Street – a paradise for shopaholics! (B,D)

Day Six
Our time in Border Country has come to an end and we depart, heading north into the awesome scenery of the majestic Highlands. Travelling through wooded Perthshire, we call at pretty Pitlochry and Aviemore, before arriving in Stratheffer where we check in to the Bay Highland Hotel. (B,D) 

Day Seven
We take a scenic excursion around our Highland base, soaking in the scenery of this beautiful area of Scotland. On our trip we call at Gairloch, a haven of peace and tranquility and Ullapool, on the scenic shores of Loch Broom. (B,D)

Day Eight 
Our adventure around Bonny Scotland has come to an end and after breakfast we depart on our journey home. (B)

Stay with us on the shores of Oban Bay, within easy reach of some of Scotland’s most majestic and beautiful scenery, with the diverse Islands and the immensity of the Highlands close by.

The town of Oban is just a short walk away with a number of places here to sample  local produce including delicious seafood and the refined and elegant whiskeys that the region is famous for. There’s also plenty to explore in town, head up to McCaig’s Tower for a great view over the Sound of Mull, or visit Dunollie or Dunstaffage Castle to learn a little about the history of Oban.

Magnificent Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park can be easily reached from Oban and makes a great day trip. For perhaps even greater scenery though board a ferry and head out onto the islands that dot the sea off Scotland’s West Coast. Mull, the Isle of Lismore and Kerrera, just across Oban Bay all make fantastic day trips offering superb scenery and a sense of solitude and wilderness that is incomparable almost anywhere in the UK.

In the hotel enjoy fantastic views over Oban Bay while sipping a tasty drink in the bar and lounges after a long day enjoying Scotland’s natural beauty. In the main season you can enjoy live evening entertainment in the lounge as well as tasty breakfast and evening meals in the restaurant. We visit the capital of the Isle of Mull, Tobermory. The small fishing port is famous for its brightly coloured seafront which frames the bay.


Full day: Edinburgh Castle

Excursion exploring Scotland’s majestic capital city and including entrance to Edinburgh Castle. Sited on top of an extinct volcano and enjoying stunning views across the city, the castle has witnessed many defining moments in Scottish history – see the Scottish crown jewels, the tiny St Margaret’s Chapel and admire the Mons Meg, a huge cannon, one of the oldest in Europe.


Scenic trip to Gairloch and Ullapool

Soak up the scenery as we visit Gairloch, a haven of peace and tranquility and Ullapool, on the scenic shores of Loch Broom.


Trip on the Falkirk Wheel

Enjoy a trip on the unique Falkirk Wheel, a wonder of design, where we enjoy a fabulous journey on the world’s first and only rotating boat lift.
