Take in the wonderful scenery as we journey through Austria’s wonderful Tyrol region, as well as taking time to experience the fantastic festive atmosphere in the vibrant cities of Salzburg and Innsbruck.

Salzburg is famous for The Sound of Music, although there’s plenty more to discover here. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997, Salzburg is filled with beautiful sights, including the Old Town, the Cathedral, Mirabell Palace, and Mozart’s birthplace. We’ll also have chance to explore the delightful Christmas markets to pick up some festive gifts.

Explore historic Innsbruck, the Tyrol’s capital and largest city. There’s so much to see here, including the famous Goldenes Dachl ‘Golden Roof’ building, plus you’ll have time at leisure to browse the colourful stalls and sample some of the tasty food and drinks on offer.

Itinerary

Day One - UK to France
We’ll make our way from the UK to France, via Calais, and will spend the night at a comfortable hotel.

Day Two - France to Kirchberg
In the morning, we’ll continue our journey into Austria, where we’ll stay at the Lifthotel for the next four nights. (B,D)

Days Three to Five - Kirchberg
There’s plenty to discover during our holiday, as we explore the beautiful city of Salzburg and historical Innsbruck, for opportunity to see the sights and discover the festive stalls. (B,L,D)

Day Six - Kirchberg to Belgium
After breakfast today we will say goodbye to Kirchberg and retrace our steps to Belgium, where we will stay at an overnight hotel. (B,D)

Day Seven - Belgium to UK
We’ll return to the UK today, travelling via Calais and then continuing home. (B)

Innsbruck Christmas Markets

Known as the ‘Capital of the Tyrol’, we’ll enjoy an excursion to the interesting city of Innsbruck. Enjoy a stroll along the historic streets to admire the architecture, as well as visiting the beautiful Christmas market, to soak up the festive atmosphere.

Salzburg Christmas Markets

Relax and take in the scenery as we travel to the beautiful city of Salzburg, famous as the home of Mozart and ‘The Sound of Music’. Enjoy free time to explore and take in some of the sights, such as the charming Old Town, plus you’ll be able to browse the stalls at the pretty Christmas market, to savour the colours and aromas of the seasonal treats on offer.

Guided walking tour of Innsbruck

To learn more about Innsbruck, and to take in even more of the splendid sights, we’ll also be able to join an optional guided walking tour of the city. This will give us greater insight into Innsbruck’s history, and will allow us to tour more of the city.

Lake Achensee

Take in the seasonal views as we enjoy a trip to see Lake Achensee –sit back and relax on board our coach as we absorb the surrounding scenery.

Vipiteno

Join our excursion to visit the beautiful town of Vipiteno in Italy. Take a walk along the pretty main street with its colourful buildings, with the majestic clock tower at one end and views towards the Tyrolean mountains at the other.
