Salou, with its wonderful sea views and lovely beaches, makes for the ideal holiday destination and is a welcoming location. The city is situated on the Costa Daurada, which is known for its amazing coastlines and stunning scenery, and it certainly isn’t lacking in terms of things to do. There’s always something fun available, from relaxing on one of the city’s many beaches to enjoying a spot of sightseeing.
The city enjoys a host of historic buildings and monuments, such as the Church of Santa Maria del Mar, the monument to Jaume I and the Fountains of the Font lluminosa. As for beaches, we’re sure to be spoilt for choice as there’s the Llevant Beach, which runs alongside the main promenade of Passeig Jaume I, as well as Platja de Ponent, Platja dels Capellans, Platja Llarga and Cala Crancs. In total, there are 34 Blue Flag beaches in Salou, so we can trust that the beaches will be well-presented and absolutely beautiful.

While we’re in Salou, we’ll get to enjoy two exciting excursions, with the first taking us on a coastal drive along the Costa Daurada. This will give us a chance to better examine this lovely stretch of coastline. Our second excursion will be to the thrilling Cambrils Market, which is located just a short drive from Salou. There, we’ll get to buy all sorts of souvenirs, as well as picking up gifts for loved ones at home.

Day One: Depart UK
In the morning of day one, we’ll make the journey from the UK to Salou, which will see us travelling via Calais. From there, we’ll travel through the night on our overnight express coach to arrive at the Hotel Estival Park in Salou.

Day Two: Arrive in Salou
We arrive in Salou late morning and have time to settle into our hotel for our first night in-resort. (D)

Days Three to Seven: Salou
We'll spend another five days in wonderful Salou, enjoying two included excursions during our time there and making the most of our days relaxing in the sunshine. (B,D)

Day Eight: Depart Salou
As our holiday draws to a close, we’ll say goodbye to Salou and will travel to Calais. (B)

Day Nine: Arrive in UK
We’ll then return to the UK via Calais, and will take the coach back to our local joining points.

Full Day: Barcelona

Barcelona is the fourth most visited in city in Europe and is a lively and exciting place to discover.  Especially remarkable is the work of architect Antoni Gaudí, which can be seen throughout the city. His best-known work is the unfinished church of the Sagrada Família, which has been under construction since 1882.


Half Day: Cambrils Market

Cambrils, which is located just a short drive from Salou, is home to two excellent markets - its general market, selling food and other wares, and its antiques market, where shoppers can purchase all manner of interesting items. Situated in the Old Town, both of these markets are absolutely excellent, and we’ll get to tour them during this exciting excursion.

Barcelona Fountains By Night

One of Barcelona’s main attractions is the Magic Fountain of Montjuic. This fantastic fountain can be found in the Montjuic neighbourhood and is located below the elegant steps up to the Palau Nacional on Montjuic hill.

In the evenings, this fountain is transformed into a magnificent light and water show, with music to accompany this spectacular performance.

Montserrat Monastery, a Benedictine abbey, is located on the mountain of Montserrat and is Catalonia's most important religious retreat. The Basilica houses a museum with works of art by prominent painters and sculptors, including works by El Greco, Dali, Picasso and many others.

Aside from being a significant religious location, it’s also a beautiful destination, with astonishingly detailed interiors and incredible views out over the surrounding landscape.
