Known as the ‘Eternal City’, ancient Romans believed that no matter what happened in the world Rome would go on forever, and it becomes clear why they believed this when you wander through the streets of the city, discovering ancient sites around every corner. Perhaps more than any other city in Europe, Rome’s architecture shows the passage of time and changes in history, with its classical ruins, Renaissance Palazzos, and Baroque features.
Rome is almost famous for its beautiful piazzas and squares which are perfect for enjoying a coffee or ice-cream, as well as fantastic restaurants, shops and nightlife.

On this holiday you can discover Rome’s colourful history, beautiful architecture, and unique culture at your leisure, or choose from our optional excursions to explore further.
