Day One - UK to Porto
Our river cruise begins as we fly to Oporto Airport, transferring to the MS Miguel Torga and enjoy a welcome cocktail. After dinner, join our optional Porto by night excursion.

Day Two - Porto
Enjoy breakfast; then join an optional guided tour of Porto, one of Europe’s oldest cities. Following lunch on board, travel downtown by Rabello and explore Porto at leisure. Enjoy a traditional fado evening tonight.

Day Three - Porto to Regua
Why not take our optional trip to charming Guimaraes? Admire scenic views as we travel through the Carrapatelo lock, Europe’s highest. Dinner is served as we arrive in Regua.

Day Four - Regua to Vega de Teron
Join our optional Vila Real excursion after breakfast or sail to Pinhao. Continue through the Valeira and Pocinho locks to reach Vega de Teron and enjoy a traditional flamenco evening.

Day Five - Vega de Teron to Barca d’Alva
Following breakfast, there’s an optional trip to Salamanca, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and beautiful old town. Return to the ship in Barca d’Alva for dinner and an evening of entertainment.

Day Six - Barca d’Alva – Ferradosa – Pinhao
Cruise through the Pocinho and Valeria locks to Ferradosa this morning. Consider an optional Wines of Porto excursion or sail to Pinhao for free time. Enjoy a gala dinner this evening.

Day Seven - Pinhao to Porto
After breakfast, take an optional Lamego guided tour. This afternoon we cruise back to Porto. We enjoy our final dinner on board tonight.

Day Eight - Porto to UK
We enjoy breakfast before disembarking and transfer to Oporto Airport for our flight home.

Guided tour of Lamego

Situated in the Douro's Norte Region, at the heart of the Douro Valley, Lamego boasts an incredible historical city centre, with beautiful architecture and many amazing sights to take in. The highlights of the centre include the city’s cathedral and sanctuary, Nossa Senhora dos Remedios. The sanctuary is located atop a hill, giving great views across Lamego and the surrounding countryside, the history of the place dates back to a chapel that was founded here in 1361.

Admire the great city of Porto by night. Join our coach tour of one of Europe’s oldest cities, taking in its splendid architecture and superb attractions. We explore the historical centre and learn more about this excellent city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.



Porto is famous for its port wine, as well as for its beautiful scenery and splendid architecture. Join our excellent optional tour to discover this magnificent city for yourself, and explore Portugal's second-largest city with a great day out.  



Discover the incredible UNESCO World Heritage Site of Salamanca, famous for its magnificent Old City and beautiful selection of fascinating sights. 


Vila Real and Casa de Mateus

Discover the little town of Villa Real, situated in amongst the vibrant vineyards it is famous for. The town’s name means Royal Town this moniker is due to Vila Real’s status during the Middle Ages as one of the seats of royalty along with Lisbon. There are a number of impressive buildings in the town which hark back to this time in history, in particular the cathedral. We then continue to Mateus, known for the Manor of Villa Real and the excellent rose wine produced here. Explore the Manor Solar of Mateus with us, and enjoy a stroll through the pleasant gardens.


Wines of Porto

Porto is famous for its wines, especially Port wine, and we will enjoy the opportunity to discover these amazing wines for ourselves during our excursion. Explore some of the most well-known wine-making towns along the Wine Road and visit a local quinta (wine cellar) in Porto for a wine tasting experience.
